Your task in Undermaster is to develop your own dream dungeon as you lead the subterranean minions that you attract into battle. The game has all the expected mechanics of a browser based game with wait times, premium currency and near endless tasks to complete. Wait times in Undermaster are quite reasonable in comparison to other games that are on the market though which keeps it flowing at a reasonable pace. The game has a lengthy tutorial which introduces a wide range of the game mechanics focusing on the basics of removing dirt, moving imps, cooking food, attracting creatures and laying floor tiles. These floor tiles are the building blocks of your rooms and can be used to create dorms for your minions to sleep in, kitchens to feed hungry bellies, workshops to manufacture and more. Undermaster adds another element to dungeon design though by requiring players to place objects within a room for it to be effective, such as beds in the dorm or a cooking pot for your kitchen. Placing these items in a room along with decorations is also a key factor to improving your glory which is vital to attracting creatures. With each new level better items will become available which allow you to craft higher level items which can sell for a lot more gold or provide higher amounts of glory. Eventually researching new technologies for your dungeon and battles become available to the player to add even more depth to the game experience. Undermaster is a solid browser strategy experience with an enjoyable Dungeon Keeper style theme to it. It does take some patience before the wealth of options open up to you though and sometimes the controls just aren’t as perfect as they could be.

3079 - 3079 is a unique and challenging game that blends a number of genres together to create a sci-fi action role playing meets first person shooter experience. On the one hand you’ve got random generation and a voxel game world that feels like Minecraft but then you’ve got role playing and shooter elements that are more aligned with what the Borderlands or Fallout series has to offer. On paper it’s a weird mix of mechanics and settings but it all feels perfectly blended once you start your own 3079 adventure. This adventure has you landing on a planet that is gripped by war between the Humoids and Neanders. A third faction is also present known as the Demons who are the most aggressive of the factions and have no interest in communication. Players will originally fall into Humoids territory and start their adventure as an ally to them, you do have the option to turn on them and side with the Neanders though. Everything around you in this adventure is randomly generated including the buildings, terrain, enemies and even quests. This ensures that no two games in 3079 are the same and thus offers plenty of replay potential for you and your friends. To protect yourself in 3079 you’ll find no shortage of weapons, items and even ships. You’ll start with some very simple guns and armour but your arsenal will quickly advance to more powerful weapons with plenty of variety. While many of these will come from quests or purchased through the stores there is plenty of opportunity to find these out and about in the game world. Beyond choosing your items you’ll also find plenty of depth in the skill system of 3079 which lets you customise your character to fit into your preferred style of play. While 3079 is a great solo experience it really thrives with friends and helps remove some of the early difficultly which might turn some interested parties away.

My Free Zoo - My Free Zoo has a similar feel to Upjers other popular tycoon management game My Fantastic Park. The game is free to play and runs in your browser making it very accessible. In My Free Zoo you’re approached by director Welmington and he begs you to help save the zoo from financial disaster. The zoo hasn’t been making enough money in recent times (and no wonder since he only had a pair of sheep in it). This is where players will step in to save the day by creating a zoo with all sorts of rare and exotic animals. To create your ultimate zoo you’ll have to build the necessary enclosures, select your animals, build supporting stalls, hire staff and plant decorations. My Free Zoo isn’t as easy as placing every animal you can find in an enclosure though as each animal has their own variety of stats which must be carefully considered. Some animals are particularly attractive with children for example while others attract elders, men or women instead. Each animal also comes with a rarity rating and breeding chance which allows players to breed animals together in the breeding station (babies are always a popular attraction). As you would expect animals also have particular enclosure requirements. While starting animals might be comfortable in a variety of different enclosures the rarer animals available to players are much more demanding and require special homes. My Free Zoo isn’t short on animals either with nearly 30 types that range from common sheep and pigs to flamingos and elephants. To keep you busy My Free Zoo has nearly 200 different achievements so there is never any excuse to not know what to build next. Animal lovers will like what My Free Zoo offers with plenty of animal orientated gameplay. If you aren’t an animal fan though you’ll definitely want to look at Upjers similar game My Fantastic Park instead to get a tycoon gaming fix.
